Yet another report shows that more than 40% of all cancers can be prevented! So why do cancers claim so many lives and how do we avoid the ravages of cancer?
Much like ALL other life-threatening diseases, we need to take action to prevent them. There are simple ways to make life more meaningful. But, we need to make changes to our lives if we are to eradicate the devastation caused by cancers.
It will involve making relatively simple lifestyle changes – which are possible for most of us. If not, we are shortening our potential life span, and more important, we are shortening our ‘useful’ lifespan!
Common Causes of Cancers
So, what is it that causes most cancers? It is an extensive list, but among the most common causes are:
- Smoking (and the effects of smoke).
- Living a sedentary lifestyle (lack of exercise).
- Alcohol abuse.
- Eating the ‘wrong’ type of food.
Giving up smoking is not impossible and neither is it easy. Dealing with the cancer that is often a results of fags is not easy either. For many who do not give up the habit, there are a number of different cancers which will intervene in your life.
A little bit more exercise is a relatively easy thing to accomplish as a start. It does not mean long sessions at the gym. Moderate exercise is a life saver, and a life extender. Continual slobbing about on the sofa in front of the TV is not conducive to a living a longer life. Often, it will result in a shortened life and an unpleasant one in the closing years. It does not need to be that way.
Eating healthy and nutritious food is a great way to extend your life. In fact, the health benefits of good nutrition can extend your useful life too.
No one wants to grow old suffering from the effects of obesity. Yet, many individuals are already well on the way to that state. They range from ages as young as six years old! Be aware that obesity welcomes several harmful types of cancer, not to mention a host of other PREVENTABLE diseases.
